Escape From Easter Island
At 3 PM, there was still no word on when (or if) we would be able to leave Easter Island. So Linda and I walked from the hotel down to a shopping part of the village and bought a T-shirt.
At 5 PM, we were told that we would be able to fly off Easter Island, and everyone hustled off to the airplane. Customs, and baggage, and trying to find a couple of stragglers, but by 6:30, we were in the air.
Eight hours later, and having crossed the international date line, we landed in Samoa about 9:30.
By 1:00 AM, we have our bags, are charging our devices (both my watch and my hearing aids lost all their charge), had a bite to eat and should get to sleep.
