The flight to Easter Island
We flew to Easter Island this morning — or at least by around noon. It was a 7 hour flight.
They tried to make it better. There was a talk on Easter Island by Jack Daulton one of the NatGeo experts with the trip and that helped a lot for providing context. And they took forever to serve lunch, which also helped pass the time (or at least I’m sure they thought it would). I watched a Nat Geo video program on a theory of how the statues were moved from the quarry where they were at least roughly carved to their final spot where they were finished off and named. And I read the Economist magazine that I got because I expected there to be long times where I could read.

But we got here.
Checked into the hotel.
And walked on the beach for a bit before turning in.
The internet speed here is really bad. But we are in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, about 2000 miles from anything else, so that is understandable.
